Imagine little Susie or Johnny at the piano thrilled to be learning to perform, but having trouble mastering their initial lessons.
They’re not getting the advice they need because their parents who may not play the piano and the piano assume they can’t help and the piano lesson is all of the guidance their student needs. These assumptions are not true.
It’s easy to help your young student at home even if you don’t play the piano. Here are 5 tips for parents to help their kids create good customs and use learning approaches that are effective at home.
Practice Habits You Don’t Have To Remember About The Digital Piano
Remind your child practicing piano at home to:
1. Sing the note names as they are played. Students will need to state the names of subsequently notes as they are played so they know to picture what keys are beneath their palms at beginning hand positions C and Middle C. Without this simple knowledge, students will not have the ability to go on to learning to read notes about the team.
2. Keep eyes on the music, not the hands. Once students have their hands position, they have to keep their eyes to the music, not look down at their hands. This way they are creating a keyboard in their own imaginations. This is also essential for reading notes on the team, which is a map of the piano keyboard.
3. Sit back on the piano bench and reach out to the piano. Students won’t be capable of using their little muscles in the hands unless they’re reaching out to the piano with their arms extended and elbows slightly bent with elbows pointing out into the walls rather than the ground.
4. Round the hands over the keyboard. The palms will need to stretch to the piano keys in the top knuckle and then retract back to a rounded hand position. This allows for finger flexibility and control.
Play each song 5 to 7 times a day. It doesn’t take long for a young student to practice their start lessons. But every song has to be performed with about 7 times using playing approaches.
For the student whose instructor has assigned both tunes, this will take around 5 minutes a song. That is a ten second practice session. And that’s all beginning students need to do in order to learn their lessons. However, without these tactics they never learn what they have to understand and could sit at the piano for hours.
