Practice Habits You Don’t Have To Remember On The Virtual Piano
Remind your child practicing piano in your home to:
1. Sing the notice names since they are played. Pupils will need to state the names of subsequently notes as they’re played so that they know to visualize what keys are beneath their palms at beginning hand positions C and Middle C. Without this simple knowledge, students will not b able to proceed to learning to read notes about the team.
2. Keep eyes on the audio, not the hands. This way they’re developing a computer keyboard in their own imaginations. This is necessary for studying notes on the staff, which is just a map of the piano keyboard.
3. Sit back to the piano seat and reach out to the piano. Pupils will not be able to use their little muscles in the hands unless they’re reaching out into the piano with their arms extended and elbows slightly bent with elbows pointing out into the walls rather than the ground.
4. Round the palms over the keyboard. The fingers need to stretch to the piano keys in the upper knuckle then retract back into a round hand position. This allows for finger flexibility and control.
Play every tune 5 to 7 times each day. It does not take long for a young student to practice their start lessons. But each song has to be played about 7 times using good playing strategies.
For the student whose teacher has assigned them two tunes, this will require about 5 minutes per tune. That is a ten minute practice session. And that’s all really beginning students will need to do in order to learn their lessons. However, with no tactics they never learn what they have to know and can sit at the piano for hours.
