Practice Habits You Do Not Have to Consider About The Virtual Piano
Remind your child practicing piano
1. Sing the note names as they are played. Pre-reading music gets the titles of the notes written on the note heads. Pupils need to say the names of subsequently notes since they are played so they know to picture what keys are beneath their fingers in beginning hand positions C and Middle C. Without this easy knowledge, students won’t b able to proceed to learning to read notes on the staff.
2. Keep eyes on the music, not the palms. This way they are developing a keyboard in their imaginations. This is also necessary for reading notes on the staff, which is merely a map of the piano keyboard.
3. Sit back on the piano seat and reach out to the piano. Students will not be able to use their small muscles in the fingers unless they’re reaching out into the piano with their arms stretched and elbows slightly bent with elbows pointing into the walls and not the ground.
4. Round the hands across the keyboard. The fingers need to stretch to the piano keys in the top knuckle then retract back into a round hand position. This allows for control and finger flexibility.
Play each song 5 to 7 times each day. It does not take long to get a young student to practice their own beginning lessons. But each song has to be performed about 7 times using playing approaches that are good.
For the student whose teacher has assigned them two tunes, this will require about 5 minutes per song. That is a ten second practice session. And that’s all really beginning students will need to do to learn their lessons. However, without these strategies they never learn what they need to know and could sit at the piano for hours.
